ITF 14
History
ITF 14 is a larger barcode often used on outside of packaging such as cardboard boxes for hold retails products. These barcodes are often with bearer bars. Bearer bars are a box which can be thick lines above and below the barcode or complete surround them.
ITF number is an encoded EAN 13 number including check digit. A leading Zero is added to the 13 digit EAN 13 number to produce a 14 digit number. This 14 digit number is then encoded using the Interleaved 2 of 5 symbology but using the ITF 14 fonts.
